A series of eight prints based on material collages by Július Koller from 1966 is entitled Junk Culture. Svätopluk Mikyta has digitised the collages and transformed them into prints, which he further enters with colour monotypes and adds another layer of collage. The result is a bravura trompe-l’œil fusion of collage and printmaking. The dialogue between the two artists offers a play with the haptic qualities and colour nuances of waste materials, where recycling and reuse have an essential place.
